PCMag's Security Watch blog has posted the latest MS Patch Tuesday days in 4 Patches Issued By Microsoft, 2 Critical. Here is a reprint of this entry: Microsoft released 4 security bulletins and product updates to address the vulnerabilities in them. MS09-002: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer is rated Critical. This addresses two vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer 7 that could result in remote code execution if the user surfs to a malicious web page. They are critical on Windows XP and Vista, but Moderate on Windows Server. MS09-003: Vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange Could Allow Remote Code Execution is also rated Critical and fixes two vulnerabilities in all 3 supported versions of Exchange Server. One could allow an attacker to cause the server to stop responding by sending a malicious MAPI command. The second allows memory corruption and possible remote code execution through a malicious TNEF message to the server. |

Mozilla has released the latest version of Firefox... version 3.0.6. FF 3.0.6 addresses security, stability and other issues. Here is a brief reprint of the release notes: Firefox 3.0.6 fixes several issues found in Firefox 3.0.5: - Fixed several security issues.
- Fixed several stability issues.
- In previous versions of Firefox, some users experienced a problem where parts of the screen were not properly displaying after Firefox was open for long periods of time.
- Improved the ability for scripted commands (including those included in popular extensions like Adblock Plus) to work properly with plugins. (bug 438830)
- Removed the client user ID from crash reports.
- Fixed issues with the display of some Indic scripts.
